About the job:


Kent is looking for Instrument & Controls Commissioning Technicians to be based in Port Arthur, TX and support regional project site(s).


Skills andResponsibilities:


Responsibilities:



  • Reports to the Instrumentation & Controls Commissioning Lead Technician for planning and execution management support.

  • Carries out Instrumentation commissioning execution work as directed.

  • Communicating with the Commissioning Instrument leads for technical support.

  • Conducts instrument field tasks within requirements of project permitting, isolations, zero energy states and full compliance with CSU and Area Prime Safe Working practices, methods and processes including JSAโ€™s / FLRAโ€™s / Toolbox talks etc.

  • Creates RFIโ€™s first line content in the manner of technical field questions.

  • Accepts and or signs onto permits, JSA, FLRAโ€™s, toolbox talks in the capacity of front-line user.

  • Verifies punch list completion and signs off in systems completion database as required.

  • Completes commissioning B check sheets in a technical and legible manner.

  • Carries out daily instrument commissioning work comprising of loop checking, instrument repair, instrument field support for project activities such as leak testing etc.

  • Completes field instrument red lines on documentation such as loop diagrams, data sheets, wiring diagrams etc. in a technical and legible manner.

  • Carries out instrument field support for interlock testing, instrument field support for logic testing, instrument field support for C&E testing, instrument field support for dynamic equipment runs.

  • Escorts and provides instrument field support for commissioning vendors as required.


In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:



  • Techniciancertified,withpreferablycollegetechnicalcertificateand 5 plus yearsโ€™ experienceandtransferable Project/Engineering/Commissioning experience preferred.

  • EstablishedtrackrecordingfrontlinetechnicianCommissioning,Start-Upandinitialplatformoperations required.

  • Goodworkingknowledgeoftestequipment and process plant instrumentation atahands-on level.

  • Knowledgeoffire&gasdevices.

  • Experience withE-housecommissioninginclusiveoftransformers,MCC,switchgearandUPScommissioning.

  • HandsonDCSknowledgeataloopchecklevel andPLCknowledgeataloopcheck level.

  • Hands onknowledgeofallinstrumenttestequipmentsuchas (butnotlimited to)HART communicator,Flukemultimeters, Wobulators, Pressure simulators such as Druck.


Communication:



  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
