Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor in Information Systems (one year)
Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor in Information Systems (one year) position. Eastern is Connecticut's Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.
The Department of Accounting and Business Information Systems is seeking qualified applicants for a Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor position in Information Systems beginning [Fall/2026]. This is a one-year, full-time position has the potential of renewal based on performance and department needs.
Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in information systems or a closely related field (PhD preferred but not required).
  • Industry or teaching experience in Information Systems at the undergraduate level.
  • Ability to teach a variety of core Information Systems courses, such as: Database Management, Systems Analysis & Design, IT Project Management, Enterprise Systems, E-commerce and Business Analytics.
  • Related technical skills in any of the above areas will be considered an advantage (please list them).

Preference will also be given to candidates who could also teach in the areas of: Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in Information Systems courses.
  • Develop and update course materials as needed.
  • Engage in student advising and academic support.
  • Participate in program/departmental service when needed.
