Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Teaching
May teach up to 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring) and up to six credit hours during the summer instructional term.
• Deliver engaging and industry-relevant classroom and lab instruction in Industrial Instrumentation and related fields.
• Develop, revise, and implement curriculum to meet current industry standards and workforce needs.
• Teach courses including (but not limited to): Instrumentation Fundamentals, Control Systems, PLCs, Industrial Electronics, Calibration Techniques, and Process Control.
• Integrate safety practices, hands-on training, and modern instructional technologies into instruction.
• Plan, develop, and use effective teaching methods and materials which assist students in meeting course objectives, are appropriate for students with diverse educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles, and engage the students in learning.
Required Education: The preferred qualifications for this position are an Associate' s degree or higher in Industrial Instrumentation Technology or a closely related field. A minimum of 3 years of recent industry experience in instrumentation, process control, automation, or industrial systems is preferred. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong understanding of industrial sensors, transmitters, control loops, PLCs, HMIs, and calibration equipment, including HART® communicators, and possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Applicants should also demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from a variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate must be service-oriented, promote excellence, and embrace a commitment to professionalism.
