Job Summary:  

The Workforce Training and Development Lead is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering impactful training programs that support the growth and effectiveness of field engineers, technicians, and project personnel within the power systems industry. This role partners closely with the VP of Workforce Development to build scalable, high-quality learning solutions that blend adult learning principles, instructional design, and modern eLearning methodologies. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of technical power systems concepts, hands-on field operations, and learning technologies to create engaging, practical training experiences that enhance workforce capability, safety, and performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties/Responsibilities:

  Instructional Design & Content Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain instructor-led (ILT), web-based (WBT), and video-based (VBT) training programs focused on technical, operational, and safety topics.
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture complex technical knowledge and translate it into clear, engaging, learner-centered training content.
  • Apply established instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective, measurable, and scalable learning solutions.

Learning Management System (LMS) & Learning Technologies 

  • Administer and support the organization's Learning Management System (LMS), including course uploads, user management, reporting, tracking, and ongoing platform optimization.
  • Develop and manage structured learning paths, certifications, and training catalogs aligned with technical roles, career progression, and workforce development initiatives.

 Multimedia & eLearning Development

  • Record, edit, and produce instructional videos, technical walkthroughs, and visual learning assets to support blended and digital training delivery.
  • Create interactive eLearning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent platforms.

Workforce Development Support

  • Support the implementation of strategic workforce development initiatives, including onboarding programs, career pathway models, and client-facing training offerings.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of training documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and evaluation frameworks to ensure quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.

    Marketing & Communication 

  • Develop visually compelling training collateral, presentations, program brochures, and internal communications to promote workforce development programs.
  • Coordinate internal awareness campaigns to drive training participation and support the creation of external marketing materials for client training services.

Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in instructional design and training content development, preferably within the power systems, utilities, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience with technical training standards and certifications in electrical commissioning or similar industries.
  • Professional certifications in workforce development, training, or electrical services (e.g., NETA, NICET, or other related certifications) are highly desirable.
  • Expertise in training requirements for support services, encompassing industry standards, equipment handling protocols, and certification processes.

  • This is an office desk position with no significant physical exertion required.
