Emergency Vehicle Installer - Rancho Cordova, CA

What You'll Do

Install, repair, test, and remove/replace 12-volt emergency vehicle equipment, including:

  • Consoles, weapons racks, and partitions
  • Light bars, sirens, strobes, and flashers
  • Radios, speakers, OBD cables, and in-car video systems
  • ALPR cameras, MDCs, antennas, and routers
  • Locate, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle wiring on new and in-service vehicles

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 2+ years in vehicle upfitting, automotive electronics, car audio, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Experience installing emergency lighting; able to identify electrical circuits
  • Able to read schematics and technical drawings
  • Must be able to lift 50-60 lbs and work in/around vehicles daily
  • Good hearing and color vision; able to see and work on small objects
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, safety-focused, and a strong communicator

Preferred

  • Mobile radio installation experience (Motorola, Kenwood)
  • Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
