Job description

About the Role
Are you a hands-on leader who excels at running crews, maintaining quality, and keeping projects moving in the field? We’re looking for an experienced Installation Supervisor to lead medium to large low-voltage installation projects from the jobsite.
In this role, you’ll serve as the primary on-site leader and client point of contact—overseeing crew performance, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and maintaining accurate project documentation. You’ll play a key role in training field personnel, optimizing manpower, and delivering projects that meet technical, schedule, and customer expectations.
What You’ll Do – Lead Crews. Control Quality. Deliver Results.
  • Plan, direct, and oversee all on-site activities for medium to large installation projects.
  • Supervise field crews, delegate tasks, and provide hands-on training and mentorship.
  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison with clients and coordinate work with other trades.
  • Enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, and jobsite best practices.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments.
  • Forecast labor, materials, lifts, and testing/safety equipment 2–4 weeks in advance.
  • Build, terminate, and manage telecommunications closets, including copper (Cat 5e–6A) and fiber optic systems.
  • Perform advanced testing, troubleshooting, and verification of copper and fiber installations.
  • Demonstrate and enforce proper installation of cabling, outlets, innerduct, conduit, and equipment racks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to ensure correct pathways and layouts.
  • Apply industry-standard color codes, labeling conventions, and wiring configurations.
  • Coordinate cutovers, retrofits, and upgrades to existing infrastructure.
  • Utilize Lean Construction principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Review, proofread, and submit job documentation including drawings, as-builts, work orders, and test results.
  • Evaluate installation methods and recommend solutions aligned with codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, crews, and management.
  • Support additional duties as assigned based on project or business needs.
What You Bring
  • Strong leadership and crew management skills with the ability to train and motivate field teams.
  • Deep knowledge of low-voltage installation techniques, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, including experience with conduit, innerduct, racks, and terminations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical plans.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to accurately forecast labor, material, and equipment needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules based on project and site requirements.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 7–10 years of low-voltage or commercial construction experience, including 2–3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • BICSI Installer II (Copper or Fiber) certification preferred.
  • Completion of Hilti training and certification (provided by Hilti/Instrata).
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Work Environment amp; Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding, field-based role performed in active construction environments. The position requires standing, walking job sites, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and work on ladders or elevated surfaces. All duties must be performed while wearing required personal protective equipment.
Ready to Lead in the Field?
If you’re a motivated field leader who takes pride in crew performance, quality installations, and delivering on client expectations, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and help build high-performing teams and infrastructure that lasts.
