Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and service low-voltage systems.
  • Work on fire alarm, access control, CCTV, AV, nurse call, structured cabling, and similar systems.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
  • Pull, route, label, terminate, and organize low-voltage cabling.
  • Perform device installation, programming, testing, and commissioning as required.
  • Troubleshoot wiring, devices, panels, and system communication issues.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and other field personnel to keep projects moving.
  • Identify material, labor, or technical issues and communicate them proactively.
  • Complete testing documentation, punch-list items, and project closeout activities.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation and provide real-time project updates using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.

  Required Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience as a Low Voltage Technician, Electrical Technician.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
  • Fire Alarm
  • Access Control
  • CCTV/Security Systems
  • Audio/Visual
  • Nurse Call
  • Structured Cabling/Data
  • Ability to read and understand low-voltage drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience with cable pulling, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and device installation.
  • Strong understanding of low-voltage installation practices and job-site safety.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with Project Managers and field teams.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally as needed.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with D-Tools or similar project/task tracking systems.
  • Experience working with GCs, inspectors, AHJs, and client representatives.
  • Relevant manufacturer certifications or low-voltage certifications.
  • NICET certification or similar industry credentials is a plus.
  • Experience with system commissioning, testing, and final project closeout.
  • Associate’s degree, technical training, or trade-school education in Electrical, Electronics is Plus
