Job Summary: Job Description

Immersive Concepts is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Structure Cabling Technician to join our team at government facilities in the NCR. The ideal candidate will install and maintain complex network cable infrastructures. The technician will address client data and cable network requirements, also investigate every kind of building of automation systems. The candidate must possess demonstrable technical knowledge about the ICT cabling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Setup:

Responsibility for vendor-neutral cabling systems, resulting in high-quality infrastructure installations

Conducting installation process in compliance with the industry standards

Employing industry standards and best practices, resulting in a uniform, durable and high-level system performance.

Execution of retrofits and improvisation of existing infrastructure (i.e. Conduit, Fiber, Termination)

Assisting in an installment of cable tray and various other types of cable support hardware

Following industry standards in forming, dressing and labeling cables

Providing technical assistance with various tasks such as pulling, terminating and testing copper, and fiber cable

Participate in an active role to implement the best codes, standards, and practices to harmonize the standards

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Examination of and the performance of accurate testing of client copper and fiber cabling

Certification of the parameters using appropriate test equipment as required

Identification and resolution of copper and optical fiber issues

Adapting installation techniques used by the management to make it easier for the administration

Utilization of various types of copper cable, fiber cable, and termination hardware

  • Support & Training:

Keeping abreast of the rapid changes in the technological world such as installation techniques and connectivity solutions

Collaboration with other teams on the installation of infrastructure-related activities

Serving as the single point of contact for vendors and providers

  • Project Assistance & Communications:

Conduction of site surveys, reading and following blueprints and cut-sheets

Ensuring project managers and service vendors remain a part of the project’s implementation

Planning and understanding the entire overall scope of the assigned project

  • Compliance & Security:

Follow government regulations and security protocols related to structured cabling standards and installation policies.

Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.

Use termination and testing procedures on a daily basis according to certified standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Structure Cabling & Implementation
    • CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification is a plus.
    • BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) certification is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity in the installation and operation of AV systems, including Crestron, Extron, Biamp, and similar technologies
    • Flexibility in the use of different hand tools such as punch tools, test equipment, and various power tools like hammer drills and saws.
    • Basic understanding of network cabling infrastructure.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or remotely as needed
