Role Overview
 
Plan, execute and finalize submetering projects for Metergy Solutions. This includes resource management, planning, design, approval and procurement of materials. The Project Manager will define the project's objectives, timeline and oversee quality control and regulatory requirements throughout the projects life cycle.
Responsibilities:
  • Planning and executing multiple submetering projects from start to completion, including, design coordination, resource scheduling, managing meter installation and commissioning, and material planning. This includes coordinating with internal and external stakeholder such as contractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Monitoring project budgets throughout construction to ensure completion within budget constraints. Identifying projects trending over-budget and coordinating with Revenue Assurance and Sales teams for necessary adjustments. This includes developing cost estimates, monitoring expenses and implementing cost control measures where necessary.
  • Communicating project status, issues, and risks to internal and external stakeholders. Conducting project meetings and managing project documentation. Including frequent site visits to support necessary project progress.
  • Continuously improving project management processes and practices. Includes identifying areas of improvement, developing, and implementing process improvement, and measuring and evaluating effectiveness of project manager processes.
  • Manage commissioning for multiple electrical/mechanical metering installations in both new construction and retrofit environment(s).
  • Provide technical analysis of drawings and or electrical/mechanical systems to help support various contractors and internal staff on the installation.
  • Ensure all projects comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage installation projects by demonstrating excellent customer service, organization, issue analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, project timelines that track individual project milestones and deliverables.
  • Provide technical evaluation for metering opportunities identified by the Sales department.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and completed for each installation project.
  • Any other tasks in support of installation projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree, or a Technologist Diploma within Electrical / Mechanical
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in the electrical and/or metering field
  • Working knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems, including electricity distribution, DCW and DHW systems, fan coil / heat pump systems all in high rise / multi-residential settings.
  • Familiarity with regulatory within: Measurement Canada, Electrical Safety Authority, TSSA (Technical Standard & Safety Authority)
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Demonstrate excellent planning, analytical, organizing and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • A strong understanding of health and safety on construction site(s) and in particular around electrical equipment.
  • Have a valid Ontario Driver's License (G)
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act

  • Occasional travel out of province
  • Occasional lifting of and/or transporting of construction meters to and from site using your own vehicle or company transportation.

$70,000 - $80,000 a year
