Project Engineer II
The Project Engineer II is responsible for implementing and configuring IT solutions to meet client needs. This role involves conducting technical assessments, deploying infrastructure and cloud services, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring client satisfaction. The Project Engineer II collaborates with project managers, senior engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and internal teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and set milestones to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide technical direction and hands-on implementation for IT projects, including network infrastructure, cloud services, hardware, software installations, and other IT solutions.
• Work directly with clients to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and goals. Serve as the main technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Design and configure IT systems, networks, and infrastructure that meet client requirements, using industry best practices and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Oversee the execution of IT projects, ensuring technical specifications are met, and that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with the scope.
• Configure, test, and implement new systems, software, and technologies, ensuring that all solutions work seamlessly and meet client expectations.
• Address any technical issues that arise during project implementation, working quickly and effectively to resolve problems and minimize disruptions.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all systems, configurations, and processes related to each project, including setup guides, architecture diagrams, and post-implementation reports.
• Provide training and guidance to clients and internal teams on new systems and technologies implemented as part of the project.
• Report on project status to stakeholders, including progress updates, potential risks, and solutions to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
• Offer post-project support, including troubleshooting, system optimization, and helping clients with ongoing maintenance or future upgrades.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Preferred 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure implementation, ideally within an MSP or similar environment.
• Proficiency in network infrastructure, server configuration, virtualization, and storage solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and network security best practices.
• Scripting ability in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages for task automation.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet, is an advantage.
• Proven track record in delivering technical projects, including hands-on configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience in client-facing roles, with a focus on meeting client needs and managing project expectations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
