Job description

Installation Manager

Location: On-site | Salary: Competitive + Comprehensive Benefits

Boden Talent is partnering with our client to appoint an experienced Installation Manager to join a growing security and technology operation supporting complex commercial projects.

This is not a traditional hands-on installation role. Instead, you'll provide operational leadership across project management, installation, and commissioning teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to a high standard. You'll act as a key point of escalation for customers and field teams while working closely with Sales, Engineering, and Service to ensure a seamless project lifecycle from initial handover through to completion.

The Opportunity

Working within a fast-paced technical environment, you'll lead a team of Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Technicians, providing guidance, accountability, and support across multiple projects. You'll have responsibility for project performance, financial metrics, customer satisfaction, quality control, and operational delivery, while helping develop the team's capabilities and improve processes. This position would suit an experienced operations leader from the security integration, low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, construction, or engineering industries who enjoys leading teams and managing complex project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Technicians across installation projects.
  • Provide operational leadership, technical support, and accountability for project delivery.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for customer and field issues.
  • Oversee projects from initial kick-off through to closeout and handover to Service.
  • Partner with Sales and Engineering during the pre-sales process, reviewing larger projects to ensure scope, labour, and materials are accurately accounted for.
  • Manage the Sales-to-Operations handoff process, ensuring projects are properly launched and tracked.
  • Monitor project financials, operational performance, milestones, and completion requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and quality-control reviews to ensure projects meet customer and company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, company policies, and customer expectations.
  • Oversee training, development, retention, and performance management of installation staff.
  • Ensure projects are properly closed out, including warranties, customer documentation, certificates, and service handover.
  • Drive continuous improvement across installation processes and operational performance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 2 years' direct management experience overseeing installation or operations teams.
  • Experience within security integration, low-voltage systems, electrical contracting, telecommunications, construction, or engineering.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery and operational management.
  • Experience managing project financial and operational metrics.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.
  • Experience managing project timelines, resources, and performance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain relevant state-specific licensing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites, including overnight travel when required.
  • Project management experience or relevant certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, Agile, or Waterfall would be advantageous.
  • Experience with security technology platforms such as access control, CCTV, and video management systems would be highly desirable.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to take on a key leadership position within a growing technical operation, where you'll have the opportunity to lead teams, influence operational performance, manage complex projects, and develop long-term customer relationships.

If you're an experienced installation or operations leader looking to take the next step in your career within security integration, low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, or construction, we'd love to hear from you.
