What the Role Entails


The Electrical Operations Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Electrical Operations, will perform in a vital role to ensure that our on-site data center facilityโ€™s operation and maintenance is running smoothly in regard to mission-critical electrical systems, including power generation and distribution, cooling, installation modifications, equipment spare warehousing, , security, environmental health and safety, and other aspects of onsite operation, maintenance, and repair. Limited travel is expected to support the companyโ€™s interests within the United States and abroad.


What You Get to Do


You will need to be able to provide on-call emergency response and support on a 24-hour basis to include occasional weekend and/or after-hour response as needed. Using your knowledge of industry standards and best practices, you will maintain performance for optimization of electrical systems and best economic utilization of power. Weโ€™ll entrust you with ensuring energy efficiency at our facility as well as providing exceptional customer service to our clients, subcontractors and other vendors as they relate to electrical systems on site. You will get to author training plans and provide oversight for contract staff, and evaluate services performed by outsourced vendors. You will also review directives being deployed into the siteโ€™s CMMS platform.

Requirements:

What You Bring to The Role

  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in operations and maintenance in a high-reliability Data Center environment
  • Electrical Engineering Technology Degree or an equivalent number of years of experience
  • Expertise in reading design drawings and using Microsoft Office suite applications, preferably Microsoft Excel, Project, Visio or AutoCad
  • Proven written communication and technical writing skills
  • Complex problem-solving using analysis, and technical and organizational expertise
  • Identify industry trends and articulate implications that will have an impact on the Data Center operations
  • Identifies and pursue innovative ideas and opportunities to increase efficiency
  • Extended hours may be significant at times
  • Ability and willingness to respond to emails after hours in the event of an emergency
