Installation Supervisor (Security)

Role Overview

As the Installation Supervisor, you will act as the on-site leader for assigned Core Commercial Business security projects. You will plan, coordinate, and complete installation work while balancing schedule, quality, financial performance, and customer communication. This role also manages quick-turn work by leading a small team of technicians and leveraging security subcontractors when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and complete security projects for assigned customers.
  • Coordinate installation activities and ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
  • Manage project financial results, including costs, billings, and collections.
  • Maintain a strong balance between customer satisfaction and project profitability.
  • Actively pursue and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate with customers during all phases of the project.
  • Direct subcontractors, technicians, designers, and administrators as needed.
  • Ensure warranty work is completed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure work complies with provincial, local, and federal legal requirements.
  • Support quick-turn project execution with a small technician team and security subcontractors.

  • Lead with accountability, integrity, and a strong commitment to safety on every project.
  • Stay close to the work by coordinating schedules, resources, and site activity to remove obstacles for the customer.
  • Use clear communication and practical problem-solving to keep projects moving and improve outcomes every day.
  • Build trust across sales, installation, service, and branch teams by working collaboratively and supporting shared goals.
  • Manage installation project schedules, staffing, and subcontractor coordination with attention to detail.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counseling to technical associates as needed.
  • Support the Install & Service Manager and help maintain a positive, customer-focused branch environment.
  • Operate with high ethics and ensure Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors follow all safety standards and requirements.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of supervision or management experience in the related security systems industry.
  • Experience managing small and large scale installation projects.
  • Experience in financial forecasting and budgeting.
  • Customer service and conflict resolution skills.
  • Supervisory and instructional skills.
  • Work scheduling experience.
  • Knowledge of pertinent security system applications.
  • Strong project management skills demonstrated through past work experience and training.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Clean driving abstract, as this is a driving position.
  • Ability to obtain security clearances required to access project sites.
