Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile HVAC Service and Installer Journeyman to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for both servicing and installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential properties. Your expertise in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems, as well as your proficiency in installation procedures, will contribute to the successful completion of projects and ensure customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities:

Service:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC systems to identify malfunctions and system failures.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, and valves.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Clean and adjust system components, including coils, filters, and ducts.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment, such as multimeters, pressure gauges, and refrigerant recovery machines, to perform diagnostics and repairs.
  • Test HVAC systems to verify proper functioning after repairs or maintenance.
  • Interact with customers to address their concerns, explain system operation, and provide maintenance advice.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks.

Installation:

  • Install new HVAC systems in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Assemble, position, and mount HVAC equipment, including air handlers, condensers, furnaces, and ductwork.
  • Connect electrical wiring and controls to HVAC equipment and ensure proper functioning.
  • Install refrigerant lines and perform pressure testing to detect any leaks.
  • Insulate refrigerant lines and ductwork to ensure energy efficiency.
  • Test HVAC systems for proper operation and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and relevant codes and regulations during installations.


Requirements:

  • Valid HVAC Journeyman license preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician and Installer, with a strong track record of successfully diagnosing, repairing, and installing HVAC systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems, including their components, functions, and operation principles.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
