About the Role:
Join Stillwater Building Center as an Installation Helper, where you'll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and quality installations. If you're eager to learn and grow in the construction industry, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
This position will work in a team of installers, both for remodel and new construction homes. A typical day would consist of checking that all the products needed are loaded on the trailer, grabbing anything that was missed, or extra. You would then head to the job site, sometimes Stillwater, OKC, or Tulsa, to get to the first job of the day.
Once your at the job you will start checking the openings are correct for the windows and doors, and then start getting the openings ready for the installs. You will be working with a lead guy that will teach you and show you how to do each aspect of the install. Once the job is complete you will note on a tablet any issues, problems, or if it's totally complete, and then take pictures. After this it may be to the next install, or back to the shop.
A typical week would have you starting at 7am, and getting at least 40 hours, and generally finishing you work day around 4pm. You will normally run with the same lead installer, though we may switch that around to make sure you're able to learn each install and some trouble shooting tips. This position has the potential to move up to becoming a lead installer and running your own truck/trailer and crew. If you are a fast learner, motivated, and like overtime that transition to lead could be as soon as 6 months after starting with us.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist skilled installers with the installation of various building materials and products.
  • Load and unload materials, ensuring they are handled safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare job sites by setting up tools and equipment as directed.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project success.
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Learn and apply installation techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Contribute to team efforts by completing tasks in a timely manner.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is advantageous.
