Description
Position Overview
The AAA Fire Protection Inc. Fire Alarm Technician role services, inspects, tests, maintains, repairs, and replaces Fire Alarm and Fire Alarm Monitoring systems and devices for current and new customers in accordance with current manufacturers' recommendations, NFPA, and current jurisdictional code.
Technicians are responsible for maintaining a professional, productive and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled & unscheduled fire alarm and fire alarm monitoring install/upgrade and service work as well as specialty testing dispatched by the Service Coordinator or at the direction of the Alarm Division Manager to manufactures recommendations and jurisdictional requirements
  • Act as technical support to other division technicians when needed.
  • Provide clear education, guidance, the local fire code requirements, to customers regarding services and systems for which you are licensed, in accordance with Company expectations.
  • Perform site surveys to educate customers as to timing, delivery, and operational impact around the delivery of a proposed solution.
  • Monitor and maintain proper working order of company vehicle, tools and equipment.
  • General knowledge of all AAA service capabilities, warranties, product usages and challenges, to further educate and serve external customers.
  • Responsible for recording time, request for time off, and other info in the company provided time and attendance/ human resources software.
  • Responsible for maintaining all job and customer related notes, deficiencies, and compliance test reports in company provided software (or as required compliance test reports through third party jurisdictional platforms) using AAA provided device.
  • Responsible for complying and enforcing safety requirements while on company property and at customer's site as well as notifying direct supervisor of any equipment breakdown or malfunction or any unsafe working conditions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, plus the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Exhibits attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and follow through.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hold and maintain applicable distributor manufacture and jurisdictional licenses and certifications to deliver work. Including, but not limited to: NICET Fire Alarm II, Seattle FA-1, WA 06 Journeyman Electrical License.
  • Ability to work overtime and outside standard business hours and or weekends as needed to accommodate customer needs.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to post accident, reasonable suspicion or contract required drug testing.
