Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

Level 1

  1. Have the skills and knowledge to process parts and perform equipment
    standardization in accordance with written instructions approved by the
    appropriate level 3.
  2. Have the skill and knowledge to carry out any necessary preparation of
    parts before and after inspection in accordance with written instructions
    approved by the appropriate level 3.
  3. Be able to follow written instructions in the techniques/methods for which
    certified. "NDT" Technician Training and Qualifications QIP-18-005
  4. Receive guidance or supervision from a level 2 or 3 in that method when
    necessary.
  5. With written authorization from the responsible Level 3, a Level 1 mayperform interpretations and evaluations of specific product or productform for acceptance or rejection in the method in which certified inaccordance with written instructions approved by the appropriate Level 3.

All Level 1 personnel that perform acceptance or rejection evaluations onHoneywell product shall be submitted to Honeywell for approval prior toperforming the evaluations.

Level 2

  1. Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment,
    conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and
    document.
  2. Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the
    technique/method in which they are certified.
  3. Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to
    trainees and level 1 personnel in the technique/method in which they are
    certified.
  4. Be capable of developing written instructions from approved generalprocedures. Such instructions shall require final approval by a Level 3.
  5. Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents
    that control the method as utilized.
  6. Have a basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection
    technology.

JOB LEVEL

This position operates as a Level II Inspector and reports directly to the company's Level III Inspector for guidance. The position may also report to the facility plant manager as needed when working at a location where the Level III is not on site.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Must have all applicable NDT training hours accomplished.
  • Must pass appropriate levels of NDT certification, as applicable to the position.

JOB COMPLEXITY

Assignments are moderately complex in nature where advanced problem solving, prioritizing, and communicating with all levels of plant and management personnel is a necessity.

SUPERVISION

Receives little or minimal guidance with respect to general objectives; in the majority of tasks and projects assigned, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments; operates within specific policy guidelines.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in a proactive team effort to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

CONTINUING EDUCATION

The individual is encouraged to complete 24 hours of job related training per year. This may be completed by university level courses or seminars as approved by the Director of Operations.

TRAVEL

Local and overnight travel may be required.
