Job Responsibilities

  • Perform frequent in‑process visual inspections of molded plastic parts to identify defects such as discoloration, shorts, burns, contamination, sinks, splay, delamination, and other nonconformities.
  • Accurately record all required production, quality, and performance data as directed by management.
  • Pack finished products by transferring parts from catch bins or boxes into shipping containers, ensuring proper weight, count, and product protection.
  • Use SAP to correctly complete, print, and affix labels to containers, ensuring accurate identification and traceability of product.
  • Transport packed product to the designated shipping area and stack finished goods correctly and safely on pallets.
  • Prepare and supply new or used boxes and other packing materials to molding presses to support continuous production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized production and packing area by sweeping floors, picking up stray molded parts, and removing dust, dirt, grease, or oil from molding presses.
  • Promptly clean up oil or water spills and leaks to support a safe working environment.
  • Operate manually operated molding presses as required, including removing molded product and runners from the mold and packing product into bags, boxes, or trays.
  • Correctly place inserts into molds and perform secondary operations such as reaming, trimming, facing, and hot stamping as needed.
  • Sort and rework product that does not conform to customer requirements, including sampling and gauging reject product when required.
  • Properly document and label nonconforming product to clearly identify its status and disposition.
  • Support and, when required, train Inspector Packer I employees in proper inspection, packing, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in all departments to support smooth production flow and teamwork.
  • Complete all required training assignments on time and apply learned procedures in daily work.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner, consistently using appropriate safety equipment and following established safety procedures.
  • Comply with all applicable state and federal safety and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production, quality, and operational goals.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in production, manufacturing, or assembly environments, preferably involving plastics or automated lines.
  • Hands-on experience with packaging, packing, and material handling in a high‑volume environment.
  • Inspection, quality control inspection, quality checks, or quality assurance.
  • Ability to manually inspect completed plastic parts and accurately identify visual defects.
  • Average or better math skills for counting, weighing, and basic measurements.
  • Ability to spend long hours walking and standing throughout the shift.
  • Good color perception to distinguish product colors and detect discoloration or other visual defects.
  • Good manual dexterity for handling small parts, performing secondary operations, and packing efficiently.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work well with others at all levels and contribute to a cooperative team environment.
  • Ability to work in an orderly, logical manner while paying close attention to detail in all responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a good command of the English language.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and operate in a safe, organized manner on the plant floor.
  • Experience using SAP or similar enterprise systems for labeling, inventory, or production data entry.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using email for communication and reporting within a production environment.
  • Experience with inventory handling, general labor, production line work, and assembly operations.
  • Experience operating molding presses and performing secondary operations such as reaming, trimming, facing, and hot stamping.
  • Prior experience sorting and reworking nonconforming product and documenting quality status.
  • Ability and willingness to train and mentor less experienced team members when needed.
