Reporting to the Vice President, IQT Insights, the Research Manager, Insights is responsible for developing written, analytic products on emerging technology, industry, market, and geopolitical trends. The Research Manager will serve as the Insights Team’s lead analyst for one or more functional technology topics. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders across all of IQT to identify Insights topics, develop products, and deliver unique, impactful written analysis on emerging technology, national security, and global competitiveness to IQT’s government partners. IQT Insights is the division of IQT that produces forward-looking written products about emerging technology.


  • Lead Insights product development for one or more assigned functional technology areas
  • Design and execute research projects and deliver unique, timely, and impactful written analytic products focused on emerging technology, national security, and global techno-economic competition 
  • Collaborate with IQT subject matter experts to develop a program of analysis and solicit inputs for products 
  • Publish two or more Insights products per month 
  • Receive and respond to product feedback from the Research Director, Insights, the IQT Editorial Director, and other internal stakeholders and subject-matter experts  
  • Identify partner knowledge gaps and provide forward-leaning thought leadership in those areas 
  • Utilize a variety of tools, databases, and other sources of information to identify changes, new activities, trends, trajectories, and impact for relevant technology areas, industries, and companies 
  • Represent the Insights team during engagements with existing and prospective IQT partners and deliver Insights-focused briefings to government stakeholders as-needed 

  • Due to contractual reasons, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance (active TS/SCI clearance preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience as a researcher and writer analyzing emerging technology and national security issues (Intelligence Community or US Federal Government experience preferred but not required) 
  • Strong writing skills, specifically storytelling for government audiences of varying levels of technical expertise 
  • Experience presenting complex information in a clear, concise way 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, navigate analytic disagreements, and meet deadlines 
  • Boundless intellectual curiosity and a passion for IQT’s mission to support the US national security community.
