Job description

General Summary:

This position will act as a primary representative of McNaughton-McKay driving the business strategy to accelerate growth in the Smart Components businesses as an inside resource. These businesses include industrial components, motor control, sensors, safety, condition monitoring, controllers, distributed I/O and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as inside technical resource around Connected Components business and continuously builds competency.
  2. Demonstrates the ability to describe and apply the fundamentals of industrial components, motor control, sensors, safety, condition monitoring, and machine-level controls / architectures (controllers, distributed I/O and networks) in manufacturing environments.
  3. Assists the domain experts in developing the Business Plan for products including identifying key accounts, market/account strategy, stocking requirements and support issues.
  4. Provides post-sale support to the sales team and customers.
  5. Provides pre-sale support with product conversions.
  6. Motivates, supports and leads inside and outside sales representatives to proactively implement the business plan.
  7. Identifies and demonstrates technology solutions for customer applications.
  8. Educates the entire sales team (Inside and Outside) on all smart component products.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Bachelor‘s degree required in Engineering; (work experience considered in lieu of education).
  2. Knowledge of and experience with Industrial Controls, Sensors, and Safety.
  3. Ability to determine customer needs and to follow through on commitments.
  4. Ability to build good relationships with customers and venders of assigned technologies.
  5. Proven analytic, organizational, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to develop and implement strategies to attack competition and grow market penetration.
