Inside Solution Provider information

What is an inside solution provider?

Inside Solution Providers are professionals who work within an organization, typically in sales, customer service, or technical support roles, to deliver tailored solutions to clients or customers. They analyze customer needs, recommend appropriate products or services, and coordinate with other teams to ensure successful implementation. Unlike field-based solution providers, they usually work from the company’s office or remotely, interacting with clients via phone, email, or online meetings. Their goal is to build strong client relationships and help solve business challenges through customized solutions.

How does an inside solution provider typically collaborate with sales and technical teams to deliver client solutions?

Inside Solution Providers often act as a central point of coordination between sales representatives, technical support, and clients. They work closely with sales teams to understand client requirements, recommend suitable products or services, and develop tailored solutions. Additionally, they liaise with technical teams to ensure feasibility, address technical questions, and facilitate smooth implementation. Effective communication and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable solutions are key to success in this collaborative environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inside solution provider, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Inside Solution Provider, you need strong knowledge of sales processes, product expertise, and customer relationship management, often supported by a bachelor's degree and relevant sales or technology certifications. Familiarity with CRM software, sales automation tools, and industry-specific platforms is typically required. Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills enable effective identification of client needs and delivery of tailored solutions, driving customer satisfaction and business growth.

Overview

Connection Services has a fantastic opportunity for a Sr. Inside Solutions Architect – Security working in a fully remote model. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading Value-Added Reseller (VAR) offering outstanding benefits, including a 25% bonus opportunity, 3 weeks of PTO, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), and exceptional career growth opportunities.

The Sr. Inside Solutions Architect – Security serves as a trusted technical advisor and pre-sales resource, partnering closely with sales teams and customers to design, position, and deliver cybersecurity solutions that address business objectives, reduce organizational risk, and strengthen overall security posture. This individual will lead technical discovery engagements, architect end-to-end security solutions, conduct customer presentations and demonstrations, and translate complex security challenges into practical, business-aligned outcomes.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise across cybersecurity architecture, cloud security, identity and access management, threat detection and response, and modern security operations. This role requires a consultative mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to align technical solutions with business priorities while supporting complex sales opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Account Managers and Sales Teams to identify, qualify, and develop cybersecurity solution opportunities.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover customer business drivers, security challenges, compliance requirements, and architectural needs.
  • Design and present comprehensive security architectures that align with customer objectives, risk tolerance, and budget requirements.
  • Deliver executive-level presentations, technical workshops, whiteboard sessions, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes, including risk reduction, compliance alignment, operational efficiency, and cyber resilience.
  • Develop solution proposals, statements of work, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Support RFPs, RFIs, security assessments, and technical evaluations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, professional services, vendor partners, and product specialists to ensure successful solution design and delivery.
  • Maintain expertise in emerging security technologies, threat landscapes, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in sales enablement activities and provide technical training and mentorship to internal teams.
  • Support strategic customer engagements from initial discovery through solution recommendation and transition to delivery teams.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, security engineering, solutions architecture, or technical pre-sales.
  • Proven experience designing and positioning enterprise security solutions within complex customer environments.
  • Strong consultative selling and pre-sales experience, including discovery, qualification, solution mapping, objection handling, and value articulation.
  • Experience engaging with executive stakeholders including CISOs, CIOs, IT Directors, and Security Leaders.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation, architecture diagramming, and proposal development experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.
Preferred Certifications:
