The Product Owner, Innovations is a curious, user-obsessed builder who thrives at the intersection of problems and possibilities. This role partners with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and technology teams to identify, define, and deliver innovative solutions that drive real business value. More than writing requirements, the Product Owner brings an entrepreneurial mindset - falling in love with problems, brainstorming creative solutions, and iterating fast. They are equally at home whiteboarding ideas with their team and presenting polished outcomes to executive leadership. This role is for someone who loves dental and healthcare innovation, stays ahead of industry and technology trends, and is energized by delivering meaningful experiences to users quickly and continuously.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and define business needs, ranging from simple to complex, and document requirements, strategies, and assumptions.
  • Convert business requirements into technical stories for product design, development, and implementation.
  • Analyze current versus desired state and create product roadmaps based on client vision.
  • Partner with department heads and stakeholders to prioritize feature requests and ensure alignment with goals.
  • Develop conceptual and practical system designs addressing documented requirements.
  • Manage application development, administration, and support for internal and external users.
  • Create and present reports and presentations for various audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with project managers and IT teams to estimate timelines, resources, and costs.
  • Coordinate rollouts, assist with training, and ensure smooth implementation of new or updated features.
  • Lead product discovery efforts using assumption validation through user research, prototyping, and testing to ensure solutions are user-centric and scalable.
  • Lead product deployment activities including communications, training, rollout scheduling, issue and risk tracking, metrics updates, and status reporting to ensure smooth and measurable go-lives.
  • Monitor product performance and user adoption using data and feedback to identify improvement opportunities and inform future iterations.
  • Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis - tracking competitor products, feature benchmarks, and industry movements to inform roadmap decisions and sharpen our value proposition.
  • Stay current on product development trends, tools, methodologies, and emerging technologies relevant to dental, DSO, and healthcare innovation.
  • Maintain and pursue relevant product certifications and participate in continuous learning to grow craft and credibility.
  • Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with clinical, operational, executive, and technology stakeholders - as well as external customers and business leaders - acting as a connector between teams.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or related field of study from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience.
  • 6+ years of experience performing business analysis, project management, and/or product ownership.
  • Demonstrated success launching innovative products and features.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in healthcare, dental, medical or retail industry.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and innovative environment.
  • Experience with specific technologies relevant to the industry (AI, ML, blockchain, IoT).
  • Ability to develop business metrics, requirements, and user acceptance test scripts.
  • Experience translating clinical, technical, or research-based innovations into scalable product solutions, particularly in healthcare or life sciences.
  • Experience managing product lifecycles from ideation to post-launch.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Customer-obsessed - genuinely loves understanding user problems, asking "why," and designing experiences that make people's lives easier.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - thinks creatively about problem-solving, embraces ambiguity, and approaches challenges with curiosity and a bias toward action.
  • Loves to collaborate, ideate, and brainstorm - energized by exchanging ideas across disciplines and bringing diverse perspectives together around a shared goal.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across departments/teams, adapt to change, and act reliably.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Passion for innovation and a desire to make positive impact.
  • Working knowledge of waterfall and agile development methodologies, and ability to work in waterfall and agile software development environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.
