Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Program Manager to drive complex Data Center GPU (DCGPU) programs that enable the next generation of AI, high-performance computing, and data center platforms. This role is responsible for schedule execution, cross-functional alignment, risk management, and overall program success across global engineering and business teams.

The Senior Program Manager will operate as a horizontal leader across DCGPU organizations, partnering with engineering management, program managers, technical leads, architecture, silicon, platform, validation, product, customer engineering, and operations teams to deliver aggressive AI-era program milestones.

This role is ideal for a program leader who can drive clarity through ambiguity, accelerate execution, leverage AI-enabled productivity methods, and help teams deliver with urgency in today's fast-paced AI market.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional programs in a dynamic environment and consistently delivering results through effective planning, execution, and stakeholder alignment. They communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, facilitate decision-making, navigate ambiguity, and adapt to evolving business and technical priorities. This individual takes ownership of program outcomes, drives accountability, fosters collaboration across organizations, and seeks opportunities to improve processes and execution. They apply data-driven approaches, automation, AI-enabled tools, and analytics to enhance program visibility, risk management, operational efficiency, and decision-making. A strong understanding of technical development lifecycles, coupled with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans, enables them to successfully drive programs from concept through customer delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Execution and Delivery
    • Lead DCGPU program execution across product planning, pre-silicon emulation, SW development life cycle, validation, bring-up, release, post silicon execution and customer delivery milestones.
    • Own integrated program schedules, deliverables, dependencies, risks, actions, and executive communication.
    • Drive aggressive schedule execution while maintaining quality, transparency, and cross-functional alignment.
    • Manage multiple programs or major program workstreams concurrently, depending on scope and business need.
    Program Management Leadership
    • Drive alignment across global cross-functional teams including engineering management, technical leads, architects, silicon teams, platform teams, product engineering, customer engineering, and operations.
    • Influence without direct authority to ensure dependency deliverables are met and functional collaboration is not blocked or delayed.
    • Facilitate decision-making across teams and leadership levels when priorities, resources, or technical tradeoffs require resolution.
    • Build trusted partnerships with engineering, product, business, and customer-facing teams.
    • Identify schedule, technical, resource, customer, and dependency risks early.
    • Drive mitigation plans, escalation paths, and closure of critical issues.
    • Manage customer-driven changes, and shifting priorities while protecting committed deliverables.
    • Resolve ambiguity and help teams adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
    AI-Enabled Program Management
    • Apply AI tools and automation to improve program planning, status generation, risk tracking, action item management, documentation, and executive reporting.
    • Use data-driven insights and metrics to improve predictability, visibility, and decision quality.
    • Identify opportunities to improve program productivity, communication efficiency, and organizational execution through AI-assisted workflows.
    • Champion modern program operating mechanisms that reduce manual overhead and enable faster response to changing priorities.
    Technical and Business Alignment
    • Partner with technical leads and engineering managers to understand program scope, software impact, platform dependencies, validation requirements, and customer priorities.
    • Translate technical requirements and program impacts into executable plans.
    • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, and customer interface to understand and define requirements for diagnostics, debug, validation tools, and related software deliverables.
    • Help balance functionality, quality, schedule, resources, and business priorities across complex DCGPU programs.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in program management, project planning, and cross-functional leadership in complex technology environments.
  • Experience leading complex, interrelated programs and functions across global teams.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile development methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating horizontally across multiple internal functional organizations.
  • Experience working with offshore peer teams, global teams, customers, and customer-facing engineering organizations.
  • Experience with GPU/Memory/High Speed IO architecture, System/Rack knowledge, AI, machine learning, deep learning frameworks, software engineering concepts, and modern development practices.
  • Experience using AI, automation, analytics, or modern productivity tools to improve program execution, reporting, decision-making, or operational efficiency.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
