Job Description
INNERGY is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to drive our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence across a growing portfolio of products and services.
You will be a senior technical leader designing scalable, secure, and resilient systems while driving automation, reliability, and developer velocity across the organization. Working directly with senior leadership and systems architects, and partnering with Engineering, Product, Security, and IT teams across the globe, you'll modernize infrastructure, sharpen observability, and build systems that scale with INNERGY's growth.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in complexity, hunts down hard infrastructure and scalability problems, and takes real ownership of the systems engineering teams depend on.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture
  • Own design, provisioning, and evolution of INNERGY's Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code standards across all environments
  • Optimize for cost, performance, and fault tolerance

CI/CD & Developer Platform
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable software delivery
  • Standardize deployment patterns across INNERGY's product suite
  • Support containerization and orchestration initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Reduce toil through automation and self-service tooling

Reliability & Observability
  • Define and own SLO/SLA targets for production systems
  • Establish observability standards: metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting
  • Own disaster recovery strategy and ensure systems meet recovery objectives
  • Lead incident response process, including runbooks, postmortems, on-call structure
  • Coordinate with global counterparts for follow-the-sun coverage and round-the-clock reliability

Security & Compliance
  • Harden infrastructure and automate security controls
  • Support audit and compliance requirements
  • Partner with IT and Security on vulnerability management and access controls

Technical Leadership
  • Set DevOps practice standards across engineering
  • Mentor engineers on platform and infrastructure topics
  • Contribute to architecture reviews and strategic planning
  • Drive build vs. buy decisions for tooling and platform investments
  • Align practices and maintain continuity with DevOps and IT counterparts across INNERGY's global regions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years software engineering experience; 6+ in DevOps, SRE, or platform roles
  • Cloud infrastructure expertise in production SaaS environments
  • Kubernetes in production ownership, not just familiarity
  • Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure
  • DevOps, or GitLab CI
  • Terraform or equivalent IaC at scale
  • Strong scripting in Python, Go, or Bash
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or New
  • Relic
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, system architecture, and high availability design
  • Software engineering background sufficient to understand, review, and contribute to development efforts
  • Applies AI-first approaches to tooling, automation, and problem-solving
  • Track record owning reliability: SLO definition, incident management, postmortem culture
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction without formal authority
  • Proficiency with GitHub for source control, collaboration, and CI/CD workflows

Preferred Qualifications
  • Multi-cloud or large-scale cloud migration and infrastructure modernization experience
  • Deep experience running production workloads in Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with .NET application environments
  • Background in manufacturing, ERP, or industrial software environments
  • Compliance posture ownership experience, including SOC 2 or similar security frameworks
  • Background in high-growth SaaS or PE-backed environments
