LPN/LVN Corrections

Location: Roanoke, VA
Contract Type: Travel
Duration: 8 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights (6:00–6:00; 36/48 rotation, every other weekend)
Pay: $1,508.40/week
Completion Bonus: $1,100 per contract (up to $3,300 after three contracts)

Job Description
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced LPN/LVN for a travel assignment in a correctional healthcare setting. The nurse will provide medication administration and basic clinical care to an inmate population during night shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with correctional protocols, rotating schedules, and enhanced background screening requirements. Orientation timing is determined individually prior to start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in a correctional setting
  • Administer medications using the CoEMR med pass system
  • Perform routine assessments and monitor patient status
  • Respond to urgent care needs within scope
  • Document care and medication administration accurately
  • Follow all safety and security procedures
  • Coordinate with custody and healthcare staff
  • Support sick call and chronic care services

Qualifications

  • Active LPN/LVN license required
  • Corrections or similar secure-setting experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic med pass systems preferred
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts with 36/48 rotation
  • Must work every other weekend
  • Willingness to complete site-specific background screening
  • Driver’s license and required identity documents required at submission
  • Ability to complete fingerprinting and photo requirements after offer
