Job description

Position Title: Printing Press Operator
Location: Valmeyer, IL
Experience: 6 years
Job Description
Operates presses to produce a wide variety of multicolor items. Performs routine press maintenance. Establishes and maintains solid working relationships with customer service, prepress, and order entry to ensure maximum plant productivity and quality control according to established standards. Typically produces work that is more quality-intensive than that on conventional presses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all materials and supplies are available for efficient operation by coordinating with the shift supervisor and/or purchasing.
  • Sets up and operates presses to produce a wide variety of multicolor items, which may require screening and use of halftone plates to obtain precise impressions.
  • Changes plates for size and type of stock required for each job.
  • As part of Make Ready, cleans and lubricates press, mixes ink, and loads press with specified type, size, and color of paper stock.
  • Checks registration under a magnifier.
  • Makes appropriate adjustments to ensure the output of a quality product.
  • Investigates production problems and/or errors to identify possible changes in procedures to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Ensures equipment maintenance is performed and reports any downtime that may affect production schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Adheres to company safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Compensation: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
