Job Description

This Concrete Labor position supports a precast concrete manufacturing facility by assisting machine operators throughout the production process. You work both indoors and outdoors, helping to create molds, set up rebar cages, move materials, and perform patch and finish work on concrete products. The role is highly physical, involves heavy lifting, and requires comfort working in a busy industrial environment with multiple moving parts and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist machine operators from start to finish in creating concrete molds and products.
  • Set up and position cages and rebar for precast concrete forms.
  • Move materials throughout the facility using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Perform patch and finish work on concrete molds and products outdoors as needed.
  • Clean work areas, molds, and equipment using air tools and other cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures while working around heavy machinery and moving equipment.
  • Consistently lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Use a tape measure accurately to support construction and manufacturing tasks.
  • Maintain reliable attendance in accordance with the company’s attendance point system.
  • Work extended hours during peak season, including occasional Saturdays, as required by production demands.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately from the first day on the job.
  • Capability to consistently lift up to 75 pounds and perform labor-intensive tasks all day.
  • Experience in construction labor, concrete work, or general construction environments.
  • Background in general labor within manufacturing or production settings.
  • Comfort working with rebar and other structural materials.
  • Ability to work safely in a noisy environment with many moving parts and equipment.
  • Strong attendance record supported by references.
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a precast concrete manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled, with duties performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The environment is noisy and requires hearing protection, and there are many moving parts and pieces of equipment operating throughout the day. The position is highly labor-intensive, with frequent heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks. Standard hours from November to May are typically 6:00 or 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 or 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with very occasional Saturdays. During peak season until November, schedules extend to approximately 6:00 or 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., often totaling 60 or more hours per week. All workers must provide and wear their own steel-toed boots as part of the required attire.
