Job description

MOLDING SUPERVISOR - 2nd Shift

A family-owned company, Dynomax designs, manufactures, and develops high-precision machined components, injection molding and tooling, sub-assemblies, automated work cells, specialty machines, and machine tool spindles since 1986. The Molding Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating production and teamwork together with the production coordinator, molding technicians and molding operators on 2nd Shift. Will work with smaller tonnage Injection Molding presses and highly engineered materials such as Thermoset and Thermoplastics.

Molding Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

  • The Molding Supervisor will motivate employees to work together and accomplish work tasks
  • Monitor department production, operations and quality to ensure standards and metrics are being met
  • Direct and coordinate work tasks of direct reports
  • Assist production as needed performing all functions and responsibilities of a molding technician
  • Assist in hiring and/or terminating department staff in compliance to company policies and employment laws.
  • Prepare and maintain personnel records of direct reports and submit them to the department Manager and HR
  • Maintain time sheets and monitor overtime of direct reports
  • Analyze production, maintenance, quality control and other operational reports to detect and resolve concerns
  • Prepare, review and monitor department reports
  • Develop and implement ongoing production, quality and cost improvement initiatives

Molding Supervisor Job Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable in Thermo Plastics and Thermo Set materials
  • Ability to read and interpret part/engineering drawings
  • Ability to use basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, microscopes)
  • Ability to delegate and assign work to appropriate personnel
  • Knowledge of company policy and employment laws
  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize workload in order to maximize production results
  • Complex problem solving skills and the ability to identify the problem, review and evaluate correlating information, execute high impact solutions
  • Advanced judgment and decision making skills- ability to carry out a cost benefit analysis of potential action plans and identify the most favorable outcome
  • Ability to implement and achieve the strategic initiatives assigned by the general manager
