Injection Molding Process Technician – Plastics Manufacturing

Full-Time | Hourly Position (Overtime Eligible) | On-Site

Position Overview

SEKO Dosing Systems Corp. is seeking a skilled Injection Molding Process Technician to join our manufacturing team in producing high-precision plastic components used in industrial dosing pumps.

This role is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of injection molding machines and tooling. The technician ensures that molding processes are optimized and that finished components meet strict quality and dimensional standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience with high-tolerance plastic molding, mold tooling, and mechanical troubleshooting, with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Important: This position works with plastic injection molding machines and tooling and requires experience performing machine setup, mold changes, and process troubleshooting. This is not a machine operator role.


Key Responsibilities

• Set up, start up, and maintain injection molding equipment according to work instructions
• Install and remove molds from injection molding presses
• Maintain optimal molding processes to ensure consistent product quality
• Perform material handling, storage, and preparation for molding operations
• Evaluate molded parts according to molding and finishing guidelines
• Release production parts through required check-off documentation
• Safely attach hoists and lift molds into and out of presses
• Maintain setup records and production documentation
• Provide training and guidance to machine operators when required
• Report any safety issues or incidents to the Production Manager immediately

Tooling & Mold Maintenance

• Perform mold assembly and preventative maintenance to ensure tooling is production-ready
• Conduct visual inspections to identify potential mold or tooling issues
• Execute mold set-ups efficiently and accurately
• Prepare mold set-up sheets and documentation
• Perform PSA (Pre Start-up Approval) on all mold setups
• Assist with daily machine troubleshooting and process adjustments
• Perform routine mold cleaning and preventative maintenance at scheduled intervals
• Communicate with external mold repair vendors when tooling service is required

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the mold shop and work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

2–3 years of plastic injection molding experience required
• Mold / Tool Shop experience preferred
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Ability to read and follow technical work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use hoists or overhead cranes to maneuver tooling up to 15,000 lbs
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift

Technical Skills

• Ability to detect mold defects and coordinate tooling repairs
• Experience using measuring equipment such as:

  • Calipers

  • Scales

  • Core rod adjusters

  • Other inspection tools

• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records
• Strong written and verbal communication skills


Compensation

This is a full-time hourly position with overtime eligibility.
Compensation is based on experience and technical qualifications
