Overview
Cambridge Security Seals seeks a Set-Up Technician with a focus on a proven track record of injection molding machine set-up and operation. This team member will also work with fully automated injection molding production processes. This is an immediate opening at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pomona, NY.
The primary focus of this position will be to support our growing manufacturing needs.

At CSS, our Set-Up Technicians contribute to a wide variety of products across many aspects of manufacturing, quality, and operations.

Experience is certainly advantageous, but we will provide specific training on our unique processes. This will be both our in-house and online providing the tools necessary for the right candidate to achieve success. This is a position with growth opportunities within the organization. Responsibilities
Injection Molding Machine Set-Up Technician Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Set-up of injection molding machines, material handling, automated assembly, and production lines which include ultrasonic and spin welding, laser and hot stamp marking, and other automated inspection and packaging processes and the products they produce.
  • Strong Hands -on injection molding processing and troubleshooting skills based on scientific molding techniques.
  • Maintain control of the entire injection molding process. Verifies correct setup of molds, processes, and auxiliary equipment before and during production. Starts up. establishes proper conditions, performs process monitoring, and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
  • Identifies reacts to and resolves quality issues. Applies experience and Scientific Injection Molding knowledge in adjusting the process, documents changes; addresses questionable parts; and monitors and focuses on scrap reduction.
  • Recommends repairs or required maintenance or improvements beyond their immediate skillset.
  • Ensures product is consistent with product quality and adherence to the Quality Management System.
  • Responsible for performing mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule and helping to teach and train line operators.
  • Review work orders to ensure the correct issuing of raw materials, packaging, BOM, etc.
  • Basic understanding of electricity and electronics as they apply to the molding floor and associated automation. The ability to check fuses, change out heater bands, and check voltages, for example.
  • Experience performing fast and efficient mold changes.
  • Experience doing some minor mold and machine maintenance including parting line tooling insert changes.
  • Hot runner and robot system experience, care, and operation.
  • Provide guidance to Line Operators and back up the shift Supervisor.
  • Production documentation including accurate part count and scrap reporting.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A high school education, Diploma, with an interest in manufacturing, with 3-5+ years of related work experience to perform at this level.
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding machine set-up, process troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding of scientific molding advanced concepts, plastic injection molding processes, laser marking, and other automated finishing and assembly techniques and processes.
  • A performance-driven, team-oriented, and client-focused attitude/demeanor.
  • Good written/verbal communication skills and an impressive work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A strong mechanical/technical aptitude or background with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions in English.
    • Must be able to work standing for an entire shift with frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
    • The ability to work productively and cooperatively in a team environment.
    • Must be reliable and on time.
    • Must pass our mandatory drug screening.

    This is a manufacturing-facility-based position in Rockland County. You must presently live in or have a reasonable daily commute to the Rockland County area. In addition, you must pass initial and random drug testing.
