Cumming plant manufactures commercial and residential roofing material such as injection
molding accessories for roof systems as well as accessories for commercial roofing systems.

Job Summary
GAF is looking for Machine Operators responsible for producing high quality commercial and
residential roofing products at the Cumming, GA plant. The ideal candidate thrives in the
production environment where safety, quality, service, and cost are the highest priorities. The
Machine Operator will perform various, rotating duties relating to all manufacturing
operations.
Essential Duties
  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Responsible for operation of equipment in a safe manner to prevent damage to equipment and to prevent injuries to yourself and others.
    • Must wear all safety and health protective equipment as specified. Must follow all safety rules.
    • Responsible for running one or more 1500-ton injection molding machines and resolving downstream automation faults
    • Ability to safely load/ unload material using an electric pallet jack
    • Inspect parts according to quality procedures
    • Maintain accurate operational records as directed.
    • Participate as a member of the production team during downtime and start-up, product changes, operational problems, clean up, training, etc.
    • Responsible for housekeeping in assigned area(s)
    • Work any 12 hour shift of rotating shift schedule
    • Work overtime and some weekends
    • Perform any other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications Required
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • Two (2) years manufacturing experience or military experience. Required
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few physical variables in everyday situations.

Qualifications Preferred
  • Strong mechanical skills, maintenance related experience and/or injection molding experience preferred.
