Location: Pascagoula, MS (Ingalls Shipbuilding Site)

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on CDL Mechanic to support daily operations at the Ingalls Shipbuilding facility in Pascagoula, MS. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working around trucks and equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and assisting with field operations.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on vacuum trucks, service trucks, and related equipment. This individual will also move vehicles throughout the facility, support dumping operations, and assist the operations team as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on vacuum trucks, service trucks, and support equipment
  • Diagnose and repair common mechanical issues, including:
    • Tire replacements and repairs
    • Hydraulic and vacuum hose repairs
    • Oil and fluid leaks
    • Minor engine and equipment troubleshooting
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Move trucks and equipment throughout the Ingalls facility
  • Assist with waste disposal and dumping operations
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL required
  • Mechanical experience with commercial trucks, heavy equipment, vacuum trucks, or similar equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair common maintenance issues independently
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
