Job Description: Staff Nurse

The staff nurse plays a vital role in delivering nursing care to patients throughout their lives, from infancy to older age. This position involves utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse operates within the organization's established policies and procedures while demonstrating accountability and professional development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality nursing care to patients.
  • Coordinating care activities among all assigned staff.
  • Maintaining established standards of practice.
QualificationsEducation
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Work Experience
  • No prior experience is necessary; new graduates from nursing programs are welcome to apply.
  • Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • For PRN positions, at least one year of hospital experience is required.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current RN license in the State of Georgia or NLC/eNLC Multistate License is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
Additional Licenses and Certifications

Depending on the specialty area, additional certifications may be necessary:

  • Cardiac Tele: ACLS Certification required within 180 days (Nurse Residents or new specialty nurses must complete within 6 months).

  • Women’s Services: Various certifications including NRP required by the end of the orientation period.
