WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an IT System Administrator (IT Infrastructure Consultant) in our Green Bay, Wisconsin location. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time regularly spent in the office.
This position is part of a job family (Associate IT Infrastructure Consultant, IT Infrastructure Consultant, and Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary
The IT Systems Administrator (IT Infrastructure Consultant) position provides support for our energy management system within the Energy Management and Market Solutions (EMMS) group. This person works as a member of a team to support the EMMS infrastructure and is involved in design, implementation, and operational activities. The specific functional areas include, but are not limited to, local area networking, server and desktop hardware, cyber security, and Windows operating system support.
The IT Systems Administrator has design & engineering tasks include planning, evaluating, designing, and testing of systems in these functional areas, in addition to consulting, budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor analysis. Operational duties include implementing, configuring, testing, and debugging the systems in these functional areas, in addition to consulting, problem resolution, performance and monitoring, and production control.
Job Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and engineer various device and system configurations utilizing prescribed methods. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced IT Infrastructure Consultant or other senior staff
  • Implement, operate and support various devices and systems utilizing prescribed methods
  • Perform routine systems work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Work under direction of supervisor or Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant who screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems
  • Develop working knowledge of systems, equipment, and supporting applications, and how they support the business
  • Maintain key performance and process metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures, and systems, generally under the direction of senior staff
  • Effectively use various forms of communication to successfully perform job duties
  • Performs on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation
  • May require travel to other locations

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree

This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related degree.
  • Strong technical knowledge of firewall administration and configuring and monitoring network equipment.

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68
Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
