Description of specific Duties in a typical workday for this position:

This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and administration of the IT infrastructure and the systems supporting it. On an on-going basis, this position will design infrastructure components, maintain and monitor systems and applications, and identify root causes of operational issues in order to resolve them. This individual will also mentor and provide guidance to the Systems Engineer staff.

Required Skills

Must be US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

10+ years of experience in Microsoft systems administration/engineering.

Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems

for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

MCSE 2012 certification required

Technical knowledge and experience with application security, content filtering, network protocols, access control, encryption, and 2 factor authentication technologies

Excellent communications, teamwork, leadership, and conflict management skills

Committed to continuous learning in order to stay up-to-date with technological developments and changes

Responsible for translating business requirements into IT infrastructure solutions while taking into account the constraints imposed by the existing systems and architectures

Ensure that the infrastructure architecture aligns with the roadmaps established by the organization's enterprise architecture

Lead the design and management of network topologies and the adoption and configuration of networking protocols

Extensive experience in network infrastructure design and management, TCP/IP protocol suite, MS Active Directory and DNS configuration, web server and mail server configuration

Experience with selecting and implementing network communications security and integrity solutions, such as PKI, virtual private networking, authentication and authorization protocols (Kerberos, ...), firewalls, NAT, ...

Daily Operational Duties:

Manages system security, Nessus scans, patching, and vulnerability mitigation.

Experience with Shavlik patch management.

Experience with Symantec Backup Exec and Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Strong understanding of FISMA and NIST requirements and how they apply to an incident response team.

Strong understanding of root causes of malware infections and proactive mitigation.

Monitor events generated by network devices and servers.

Works with other engineers to design and implement new systems and processes.

Monitor the BMC (ticketing system) and make sure that the team are met with SLAs
