Compensation Range: $100,250 - $158,350.  Based on our Reno office location.

This role will require a physical presence at the client project site 4 – 5 days a week.

Construction Manager III – IV (Municipal Water Infrastructure)

Construction Manager with public agency CM experience in water, wastewater or public infrastructure-related projects is needed to assist with project responsibilities in our firm’s growing construction management practice.

Experience and qualification requirements include:

  • 8 - 10+ years in civil construction project oversight as part of a civil engineering or construction firm with a focus on water or wastewater.
  • Required experience includes treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and/or concrete or steel water storage tanks. This position requires excellent attendance and an ability to be fully mobile on the job site. 
  • Developing and maintaining client contact before, during, and after project completion.
  • Cultivating client relationships through organizational involvement and by direct contract.
  • Conducting business development and client engagement in pursuit of identifying and winning work.
  • Identifying key pursuits and developing proposals and budgets for CM related projects.
  • This position entails climbing ladders, reaching, stooping, and kneeling, among others.
  • A valid CA Driver’s License is required. 

Skills include:

  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Computer literate and ability to use MS Word, Excel, Project, Adobe, and construction documentation software such as Procore.
  • Lead project meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Ability to review contractor monthly pay requests and confirm quantity & pricing is correct.
  • Experience with analyzing and negotiating potential change orders, dispute resolution, and claims mitigation.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, city and agency staff, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage a project team including resident inspectors, CM administrative support, and subconsultants.
  • Effective communicator who can assist with marketing or business development efforts. 

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical water-related civil engineering or construction management education and knowledge, proactive organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal/communication skills including the ability to quickly develop working relationships internally within the firm and externally with clients and teaming partners.

A college degree, and Professional Engineer (PE) certification in California is preferred, but not required.
