About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Mobile, Alabama. In this role, you will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for designing, architecting, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions that support critical terminal operations. You will lead modernization initiatives across compute, virtualization, cloud, storage, and infrastructure platforms while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive reliability, security, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and architect enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across virtualization, compute, storage, backup, and cloud environments.
  • Lead complex infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, including risk management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and serve as the final escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, technology roadmaps, and modernization strategies.
  • Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to improve scalability, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Drive security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives across infrastructure platforms.
  • Mentor infrastructure engineers and promote knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and best practices across the team.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and conduct proof-of-concept activities to assess business value and technical feasibility.
  • Lead capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives across infrastructure environments.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.
Who We Are Looking For

  • Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise virtualization environments, particularly VMware and ideally Nutanix.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and a solid understanding of modern infrastructure architectures.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles.
  • Experience developing automation solutions, infrastructure standards, and operational best practices.
  • Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence.
  • Fluent English communication skills are required; Spanish is considered a plus.
  • Curiosity, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to researching and resolving technical challenges.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Mobile, Alabama, United States (100% On-site)

Work Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

On-Call Expectations: Participation in on-call support as needed; critical events are infrequent

Salary Range: USD $90,000 to $110,000 annual base salary
