Job description

Senior Project Manager | Project Director - Owners Rep - $800M Industriual Project, Warwick, RI.
Your new company

Our client is a publicly traded engineering and construction management organization delivering some of the most complex infrastructure and industrial projects in North America. They are currently serving as the owner's representative on a high-profile, multi-year, design-build defense manufacturing program in Warwick, Rhode Island.
This project involves the construction of large-scale industrial manufacturing facilities supporting submarine production for the U.S. Navy. With an overall program value exceeding $800 million, the development includes substantial site infrastructure, land development, utilities, environmental remediation, heavy structural steel construction, and the installation of specialized manufacturing equipment.
This is a rare opportunity to join a nationally recognized organization and play a leadership role on one of the most significant heavy industrial construction projects currently underway in the United States. The position also offers a clear succession path, with the existing Project Director expected to retire within the next year.
Your new role
As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a large-scale progressive design-build industrial construction program from project initiation through final completion. Acting as the owner's rep, you will serve as the primary point of contact between executive leadership, facility operations teams, design consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
You will provide daily leadership across all phases of project delivery, including design coordination, procurement strategy, constructability reviews, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, change management, construction execution, commissioning, and closeout. Working within an active manufacturing environment, you will ensure project objectives related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost are achieved while minimizing operational disruption.
The role requires an experienced project leader capable of managing highly complex heavy industrial construction challenges, including significant structural steel scopes, specialized manufacturing infrastructure, difficult coastal site conditions, utility coordination, environmental considerations, and large-scale capital improvements. You will also play a key role in stakeholder management, risk mitigation, strategic decision-making, contractor oversight, and mentoring junior members of the project team.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Minimum 10+ years of construction management experience, with significant exposure to large-scale heavy industrial projects.
  • Proven experience delivering progressive design-build projects from concept and design through construction, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Strong background serving in an owner's representative, project executive, or senior project management capacity.
  • Experience managing complex industrial, manufacturing, defense, energy, utility, process plant, or similarly challenging infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing projects with significant structural steel, site development, utility infrastructure, and large-scale building construction components.
  • Strong understanding of design management, contractor oversight, project controls, cost management, scheduling, procurement, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience managing projects in active industrial or manufacturing environments while maintaining ongoing operations.
  • Ability to lead executive stakeholder discussions, drive strategic decisions, and manage multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing large project budgets, forecasting, change management, and cost controls.
  • Proficiency with Procore, PMIS platforms, BIM-enabled project delivery tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
  • PMP, CCM, DBIA, or similar professional certifications are highly desirable.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position.
What you'll get in return
This firm offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package including annual performance bonuses, medical, dental, vision insurance, along with a managed 401K that includes an employer match and a generous PTO package from day one.
