Key Responsibilities
The Construction Project Manager II manages the full lifecycle of electrical infrastructure construction projects while coordinating with broader mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) project teams to support strong client relationships, project execution, and financial performance. This role plays a critical part in delivering successful projects through collaboration, communication, and proactive leadership while contributing to HEAPY Solutionsโ€™ colleague-first culture.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains a clear understanding of HEAPYโ€™s Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrates alignment in all responsibilities and interactions
  • Leads assigned construction projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
  • Develops and maintains project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and communication strategies to support successful execution
  • Collaborates with clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors to ensure project goals and owner expectations are achieved
  • Coordinates project meetings, site visits, inspections, and progress reporting activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supports contractor and subcontractor oversight to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications
  • Monitors project costs, forecasts, expenditures, and progress billing information to support financial performance
  • Identifies and helps resolve project risks, conflicts, delays, or quality concerns while advocating for the clientโ€™s best interests
  • Assists in reviewing project documentation including electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, permits, and construction schedules
  • Provides oversight and coordination for electrical systems and infrastructure installations while ensuring alignment with project requirements and design intent
  • Ensures compliance with building codes, safety requirements, and company standards across all active projects
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and reliable project execution
  • Collaborates with senior leadership, operations managers, and project teams to support successful project delivery and colleague engagement
  • Participates in ongoing professional development and actively seeks opportunities to expand technical knowledge and leadership skills
  • This role includes regular travel to active project sites throughout the Indianapolis and Central Indiana region.
  • Represents HEAPY Solutions culture in all interactions and contributes positively to team success
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands & Work Environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Normally requires a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with 7โ€“10 years of experience managing electrical infrastructure, electrical construction, or complex MEP construction projects.
  • OSHA Safety Training/Certification required.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction processes, power distribution systems, project sequencing, and construction coordination.
  • Experience managing electrical infrastructure projects such as power distribution, medium-voltage systems, emergency power systems, utility coordination, or similar electrical scopes.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience coordinating across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and client stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to remain sedentary at a desk for periods of time while operating a computer.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, via phone, and video conferencing.
  • Reliable transportation to and from project sites required.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.).
  • Ability to access all areas of a job site, including ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
  • Ability to move or transport items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Must follow safety guidelines and apply established site protocols.
  • Ability to gather, organize, and evaluate information related to project performance, costs, schedules, and construction activities.
