Responsibilities
  • Performing engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure
  • Work on engineering planning and design projects
  • Prepare reports
  • Develop plans and specifications
  • Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects
  • System modeling
  • Permitting and alternative analysis
  • Preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
  • Data entry and analysis
  • Provide engineering services during construction
  • Participate in field activities such as pilot testing
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering 
  • Minimum academic requirements include coursework in physical, chemical, and biological processes; hydraulics; and principles of water and wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure design
  • 0 to 4 years of directly-relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification
  • Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software (WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM)

An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
