Job description

Job Summary:
Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is a company recognized for delivering innovative solutions to their customers. They are seeking a Software Development Engineer to support agile projects throughout the software development lifecycle, focusing on design, development, testing, and operational support.
Responsibilities:
• support dynamic, agile projects implementing a SecDevOps approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback
• work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions
• effectively communicate with various team members, customers, as well as communicate with vendor support
• leverage modern industry standard technologies in the engineered solutions and be able to provide status of design efforts
• support more than one project at a time, bringing their knowledge and experience to help not only their primary project but be able to support other projects address critical issues and challenges
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3-5 years software engineering
• BS in SE, CS, EE, CE, or other engineering equivalent
• Java and/or C/C++ programming
• Experience with both Linux and Windows platforms highly preferred
• Backend development experience with front-end implementations
• Scripting in Python, Bash, Power Shell
• Ability to learn, take ownership, and deliver high-quality results in an unstructured environment
• Experience using Atlassian tools
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Experience in scoping effort to accomplish a task
• Ability to effectively working in a team (IPT) environment
• A minimum of an active SECRET clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a TS
Preferred:
• Network programming, Multi-threaded programming and/or client-server programming
• Experience in Sec/Dev/Ops design and implementation
• Docker/Container & Kubernetes design and implementation knowledge and experience on premise and cloud
• CI/CD Pipeline implementation
• Experience designing software solutions to complex engineering problems
• Experience leading teams in software development, and mentoring/coaching newer software engineers
• Experience defining and developing requirements with customers
• Experience designing/architecting a solution to satisfy them, and developing the test methodology to verify them
• TS Clearance
• Experience in GUI (frontend), can be in Javascript, PHP or other
• Experience using Angular and/or React JS frameworks
• Experience in C#
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational database applications
