Job description

Rye Country Day School is looking for an IT Support Technician to join its Information Technology team beginning August 10, 2026. Reporting to the IT Manager, this position provides front-line technical support for students, faculty, and staff across campus and plays a key role in maintaining a dependable, secure, and user-friendly technology environment.

Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, PreK-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. We are actively committed to creating and sustaining a school community that is nurturing, supportive, diverse, and inclusive, one in which all students can participate fully and achieve their maximum potential through academic, athletic, creative, and social endeavors. We expect and promote moral responsibility and strive to develop strength of character within a respectful school community.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Respond to routine support tickets, walk-up requests, and general help desk needs from students, faculty, and staff.
  • Troubleshoot laptops, user accounts, printers, phones, classroom technology, basic network connectivity issues, and common software or configuration problems across MacOS, iOS, Windows, and ChromeOS
  • Document all support interactions by keeping tickets updated with accurate notes, status changes, and resolution details.
  • Assist with large-scale summer deployments, device imaging, and classroom readiness for the upcoming academic year.
  • Assist users with password resets, login issues, device setup, peripheral connections, and general troubleshooting.
  • Help support events, presentations, and other campus activities requiring basic IT or AV assistance.
  • Support operational management of Apple devices through JAMF and Chromebooks through Google Admin, as assigned.
  • Help maintain device readiness, accessory inventory, and other support-related equipment.
  • Escalate more complex systems, infrastructure, or application issues appropriately
  • Provide timely and professional customer service while communicating clearly about issue status and resolution steps.
  • Stay current with the systems, devices, and support practices used by the school.
  • This role is expected to work collaboratively with the IT Manager and the rest of the IT team in support of daily campus operations
  • Show initiative in learning procedures, tools, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience/certifications).
  • Apple Certified Support Professional certification is a plus.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in an IT Office or similar environment, working in a school setting is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to maintain patience and professionalism with users of varying technical abilities.
  • Demonstrate reliability, responsiveness, and strong organizational skills.
