Job Title: Assistant IT Manager
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Shelton, CT

Position Overview
The Assistant IT Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure across a pediatric primary care environment. This role focuses on help desk operations, network performance, system reliability, and end-user support for clinical and administrative staff.
This individual serves as the primary escalation point for technical issues and plays a key role in ensuring stable, secure, and efficient technology operations across all locations. The position reports to the IT Director and supports ongoing IT initiatives and operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

IT Help Desk Support
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Tier I and Tier II technical support issues
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions, and access requests
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, and software issues
  • Document support requests, resolutions, and technical procedures within the help desk system
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and user provisioning
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software assets
Network amp; Infrastructure Support
  • Maintain and support network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Assist with network upgrades, configurations, and performance optimization
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for network and system support
  • Support cybersecurity practices including endpoint protection, patching, and access controls
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity efforts
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist the IT Director with daily operations and prioritization of support requests
  • Help develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare data security standards
  • Participate in after-hours or on-call support as needed
Qualifications
Required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
