Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operational Support Specialist to provide mission-critical administrative and operational support for the Naval Justice School (NJS) in Newport, Rhode Island. This role supports the Assistant Judge Advocate General of the Navy for Education, Training & Professional Development (AJAG 07) and plays a key role in coordinating training operations for Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard legal personnel.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, experienced in government or military administrative operations, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional environment supporting classified and sensitive programs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate scheduling, quota control, and administrative support for training programs
  • Manage student enrollment, records, rosters, and academic documentation
  • Support billeting and lodging coordination for in-resident students
  • Prepare and distribute course materials and student information packages
  • Maintain training schedules, classroom reservations, and logistics coordination
  • Assist with Office365 and Blackboard account coordination
  • Draft, proofread, and finalize correspondence, reports, and official documents
  • Maintain databases, records management systems, and administrative reports
  • Coordinate with instructional staff, command personnel, and support offices
  • Support classified document handling and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Active SECRET Security Clearance required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 7 years of operations support, administrative support, or program coordination experience
    • Associate Degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Experience supporting DoD, military, federal, or government environments preferred
