Job description

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Diagnose IT hardware and software problems
  • Ability to trouble shoot and work with existing audio-visual systems
  • Performing routine IT maintenance
  • Diagnose problems and relay that information to vendor support and the Senior IT Technician
  • Track and document hardware / software issues with Help Desk software
  • Support for all departments within the Aquarium
  • Basic networking skills (run cables, diagnose connections)
  • Maintain audio-video equipment (support & repair)
  • Perform Herschend Enterprises' Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Service Accountabilities, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols
  • Providing end-user support for:
    • Microsoft 365
    • 3rd Party applications
    • Point of Sale applications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PC Support experience
  • Microsoft Application Support: (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Basic electronic skills
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision
  • Ability to work with other departments
  • Experience with sound and lighting equipment
  • Willingness to take direction and coaching from experienced staff members to improve your skills and enhance the guest experience
  • Must read, write, and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a constantly changing environment as well as individually, with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced job and remain courteous, friendly and helpful to guests and team members always

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check
  • Ability to work one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) and up to 2 week days
    • Additional hours for special projects will be available
