Family Connections Assistants support family engagement through customer service, administrative assistance, event support, and materials organization. The role helps host familycentered events, manage office operations, and provide accurate information to students and their families.


Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for students and families - C, CTR
  2. Provide accurate information about Family Connections, FirstYear Experience, and SecondYear Experience - CSD, C, P
  3. Perform general office tasks and uphold confidentiality (FERPA and university policies) - CT, T, P
  4. Assist with Family Days and Road Shows; prepare signage, name tags, handouts, and giveaways - CSD, L, P, TW
  5. Support event logistics including setup, checkin, guest support, and cleanup; provide evening/weekend assistance as needed - CSD, C, P, CTR, TW
  6. Track and maintain inventory of office and event supplies, including print materials, promotional items, technology, and hospitality items - P
  7. Organize and maintain storage spaces; prepare supply kits and resource bins for events and mailings - P, TW
  8. Attend team meetings and trainings; stay informed on goals, processes, and student/family needs - C, L, P, TW
  9. Support special projects and contribute ideas for improving programs and services - CT
