Job description


TITLE:  TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT
CONTRACT TERMS:  10-month
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff Salary Schedule Group C




  •  $16.73

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide instructional support to certified teachers through technology; to enhance the learning environment of students through individualized focus on learning skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  
A.  INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANCE




  • Assists with the preparation of instructional materials to meet the needs of students;
  • Assists with planning and preparation of group and individual activities;
  • Assists with preparation of a physical environment that meets the needs of students;
  • Assists with student records/attendance requirements/special reports;
  • Assists substitute teachers to ensure continuity of the learning process;
  • Assists with parent activities;
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

B.  STUDENT INTERACTION

  • Supervises students as assigned;
  • Provides individual and group instructional support to reinforce skills;
  • Provides specialized assistance pertaining to technical skills needed for using a computer as specified in IEP's, as required;
  • Assists with evaluations to determine student progress;
  • Participates in activities that will develop positive interactions during the instructional process;
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

C.  TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE

  • Assists building personnel with routine computer maintenance and trouble-shooting;
  • Prioritizes and routes work orders related to technology to the Director of Technology.

QUALIFICATIONS  
A.  REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and 60 credit hours of college coursework or an Associate's Degree or passing score on approved paraprofessional assessment;
  • Post High school education and/or training to include training related to computer applications;
  • One year of related experience;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC or MAC computers; and
  • Ability to communicate and work well with staff and students.
