Job description

Information System Security Officer
The Opportunity:
Serve as a part of an integrated team of engineers and cybersecurity experts focused on implementing plans to make IT systems as resistant to attack and as survivable under attack as possible. Provide the expertise and technical knowledge, to perform analysis, to ensure security controls are consistently implemented, integrate new technology with IT security standards. Develop and execute plans for monitoring, assessing, and verifying security controls across all major information systems. Develop, evaluate, and exercise IT survivability and contingency plans. Ensure consistent application of information security standards across all agency information systems to meet all regulatory and agency documented standards and guidance. Ensure preparation for internal and external audits through management of all infrastructure artifacts required to pass audits. Advise on an integrated, dynamic cyber defense and leverage cybersecurity solutions to deliver cybersecurity operational services, including intrusion detection and prevention, situational awareness of network and device intrusions, security events and data spillage, and incident response actions.
You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience with cybersecurity in a professional or academic research environment
  • Experience with evaluating security vulnerabilities, developing mitigation strategies, or implementing remediation activities
  • Experience performing annual security reviews developing IT contingency plans (ITCPs), disaster recovery plans (DRPs), and continuity of operations plans
  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Ability to create cybersecurity documentation, including security plans and procedures
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CISSP Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience performing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) package reviews to ensure compliance with all Federal, DoD and Army requirements.
  • Possession of excellent research and analytical skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Top Secret clearance

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
