Job description

SUMMARY

The Loan Input Specialist I, is responsible for accurately onboarding newly closed loans into the bank's core loan servicing system. This role reviews executed loan documentation, validates key loan terms, enters loan information into applicable systems, and ensures loans are correctly established for servicing. The position serves as a critical quality control function, ensuring data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational integrity before loans become active within the servicing portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review closed loan packages and all supporting documentation to ensure completeness prior to loan input into our core system.
  • Accurately enter and maintain loan data within the core loan servicing system and digital filing system.
  • Compare loan documentation to system records & resolve discrepancies prior to booking.
  • Responsible for loan funding & disbursement activities.
  • Perform quality control reviews of entered loan data to maintain a high level of accuracy. And ensure loan data input complies with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor exception reports and correct loan setup errors in a timely manner.
  • Serve as a resource to lenders, credit administration, loan assistants, and any other bank staff regarding loan input related requirements. This includes responding timely to all internal and external inquiries regarding loan input status and documentation.
  • Support any additional departmental and/or bank needs as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of experience in banking, loan operations, loan servicing, or loan processing experience, and general understanding of loan transactions preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of consumer, commercial, agricultural, and/or mortgage loan products preferred. Including the ability to interpret loan documents and identify key loan terms.
  • Knowledge of loan servicing concepts & loan processes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills. Including an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze & resolve discrepancies independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, SharePoint and Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move files and boxes up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive keyboard and data entry tasks.
  • Ability to be productive in an office environment with moderate noise levels.
