Job description

Office Assistant

The Office Assistant will provide office administration duties for the IET Associate Deans that will require completing forms, ordering supplies, assisting with collecting information for adjunct hiring folders, assisting callers, students and visitors with basic information about the department. Assist with covering the building information desk when needed.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Communicating with potential faculty to obtain hiring forms
  • Obtaining and filing end of the semester documentation submitted by faculty
  • Greeting faculty, visitors and students at the information desk
  • Assist students with searching for and enrolling in classes
  • Scheduling events for the academic dean and assistant dean, and assisting the dean and associate dean with division projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to excel in a high-volume work environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer, technical and STEM skills in an educational setting
  • Ability to follow directions, manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Administrative support experience

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience in a STEM or computer related field
